Google Puts a Little Bit of Wave into Docs

This morning I posted about Google deciding that it was going to be keeping Google Wave available at least through the end of this year and that it was going to be looking for ways to use the technology it had developed for that tool in other Google products. Well they have done just that.

Now, in Google Docs (the feature that allows you to create new documents and spreadsheets, upload existing ones from many popular platforms, and collaborate with other users on shared documents) you can perform collaborative highlighting in real-time; meaning users can now see what other users are doing in a document as they are doing it, including seeing text get highlighted.

As Read Write Web states, “it’s the difference between chat and email” and it could become a must-use tool among co-workers working in different states and even different countries that need to work together on a project.
